Because I wasn’t at the conference, I took the word “assemble” quite literally. As in: I decided to try to gather together everything in the pack, in a way that felt deliberate (I started with a vague plan and adapted as I went along). I decided - partly because of your suggestions, but partly because I did this in bed with a baby snoozing on my lap - that the only additional thing I would use would be scissors, and then only to cut thread. I wanted as few things left out as possible. That got challenged slightly when I realised that I’d not spotted two of the embroidery threads! And there was a moment where I thought “ugh, this is too much, I liked it more when I’d not added that”. I’d started with weaving the yarn in, but it looked too much like a chain and I didn’t want that! Anyway, I kept going and…here you are. My only leftovers are some useful lengths of thread. Everything found a place, of sorts! I might add an edging stitch to stop fraying, if I’ve time.
